SS17 TREND FOCUS : RUFFLES

THE TREND

Chloe, Alexander McQueen, Loewe, Rodarte

This is a trend that’s been around in several different guises for the last few seasons. However, for SS17 it’s a looser, bigger and more feminine ruffle, that is as daring as it is girly. At Chloe it was light and bright in a tulle, as at Rodarte and Loewe. It’s perfect for summer dressing and makes the trend more wearable and less statement. However for the bolder girl, McQueen stuck to the big cascading ruffles of last season but with a floral update.

HOW I’M WEARING IT

White Dress £65 Topshop,  Red Dress £70 Asos, Ruffle Top £15 Topshop, Ruffle Dress £85 True Violet, Pink Frill Sleeve Jumper £20.64 SheIn

These are a few items on my wishlist that I feel encapsulate the trend really well. Wedding season is nearly here and these feminine dresses (minus the white obviously) would be a perfect look with some strappy heels. I also like the idea of wearing them with flats or trainers in the day. The top and jumper are just easy trend injections that you can work into your wardrobe for the coming season too.

What to Buy // The Mini Bag Edit

There is nothing I love more than a mini bag. It’s the one thing that encourages you to throw out all those receipts, downsize your credit cards and live a shoulder pain free life. So in light of my fondness I though I would select a few of my favourites this season for your shopping pleasure. I feel like a mini bag is also the perfect opportunity to add some colour and some crazy to your wardrobe in a little dose. So don’t be shy with your choices.stylerarebit.com

Farfetch.com

This week I was given the divine task of choosing an outfit from Farfetch.com to feature on their Google+ page. Their website is a lesson in great buying, it was very hard to get it down to three items/ not cry over being too poor to afford them. But I made it! And here they are.

I chose this gorgeous playsuit from Sacai, as I thought it was a perfect summer piece and the fabric is divine. To go with this I picked a pair of strappy Chloe sandals and some Cutler and Gross sunnies in my favourite shape. If you haven’t noticed already, I love a monochrome look and these pieces are the perfect versatile investment.
